HAIR RESTORATION

Are you noticing thinning or lost hair?

Hair loss can be the result of hereditary predisposition, hormonal changes, medical conditions, or as just a regular part of the aging process.

The hereditary condition called, Androgenic Alopecia, is known to cause male-pattern baldness and female-pattern baldness. It usually occurs gradually and in predictable patterns — a receding hairline and bald spots in men, and thinning hair along the crown of the scalp in women.

Hormonal changes related to hair loss can be the cause of stress, pregnancy, and lifestyle factors.  The androgen (male sex hormone), Dihydrotestosterone (DHT), is a byproduct of testosterone, that is broken down and links to hair receptors in the scalp. High levels of DHT, can cause hair follicles to shrink and can shorten the hair growth cycle, resulting in hair loss. This hormone can also cause the follicle to take longer to grow in the next hair cycle. Stress can change the hair pattern by causing the follicles to go into a resting phase, resulting in a decrease in production of new hair strands. Pregnancy leads to an increase in estrogen (hormone) that results in a prolonged hair growth phase and during the postpartum phase as estrogen drops, hair can fall out. Lifestyle factors such as an unbalanced diet or vitamin deficiencies can also cause hair loss.

Regardless of the cause, losing hair can feel embarrassing and uncomfortable. At FACE, we're here to make you feel confident and have tailored Hair Restoration Packages available to you.
